How it all started
Newton Baptist Church began in 2001 under the leadership of Pastor Doug Parham. Land was purchased in March of 2002, and the first service in a brand new building was in December of the same year. The auditorium was renovated, and a multi-purpose building was added in 2007. Pastor Parham resigned in 2011, and Pastor Tony Howeth was brought on as Pastor. During the 11 years that Pastor Tony was here, the church added a LifeCenter and remodeled the auditorium to accomadate our growing congregation. In October of 2022, the Lord brought us Dr. Jason Ivy as our pastor. God is continuing to grow our church, and we pray for many more blessed years ministering in Newton County.
